VASHTI BUNYAN - DIAMOND DAY
there i was sat watching tv when an advert for t-mobile came on- featuring blowupdoll favourite vashti singing this song! are advertising executives listening to blowupdoll for inspiration?! i wonder if a 'best of' cd will follow- perhaps featuring never before released tracks? oh yes please vashti!

A Compleat Vashti Bunyan would be fab. The first song I'd ever heard her play was 'I want to be alone', and I was kinda frustrated when I discovered it wasn't on 'Just another diamond day'. It's still a great album, but for me, there was something missing..

She appeared live with Eliza Carthy, Norma Waterson, June Tabor, Sheila Chandra, Lou Rhodes and Kathryn Williams as part of the "Daughters Of Albion" live show that was done as part of the BBC's FOLK BRITANNIA series earlier this year. She seems rather sweet and befuddled.
