which witch?
today i was listening to alex beaupains new project - music inspired from some found photos called 'le gens dans l'enveloppe' on which was a song i instantly recognised as vanessa paradis sang it on tv (see below) when she was very young! it's a song from a childrens musical, well known in france called 'emilie jolie'. anyways, after a bit of reading up i discovered that FH was also on the soundtrack. a nice song too - very fitting with her other late 70s work. enjoy x2!

this is my fave female french album this year. a double album too - what a feast! she sounds great - the best she's ever sounded. much of the credit has to go to benjamin biolay and mathieu boogaerts for their brilliant songs.

love love songs
i just needed to tell you how amazing vanessa paradis new album is!
its a double album - mostly written by benjamin biolay - and it's gets better and better with every listen. if you like coralie clement and carla bruni then you will love this. a great mix of sounds over the album too from soft samba, to nick cave-esque death ballads, to love songs.
this will be one of the albums of the year.

VANESSA PARADIS - POURTANTreally i had to find an excuse to post this picture. loving the song too - it's from her least successful album 'bliss' - but i'm not sure why this was - i think it's a pretty good collection of songs. this is certainly one of her best.

VANESSA PARADIS - CUT CUT BROTHER this is the english language version of 'coupe coupe'. i am not sure where this comes from. i had a copy on cassette (!) so perhaps it was only available on that format. not the best song (either in french or english) but a cute addition to your paradis collection.
