italo disco doll

who knew this clip existed? not me! such a classic italo disco track, but i just thought elena ferretti was just the voice behind rose - but here she is as the body too - well, i'm presuming it's her - it's a body at least! (in the days when a black leotard was considered a good enough stage costume!)

FRANCOISE HARDY - I WILL CHANGE MY LIFE
sometimes when a french singer sings one of their songs in english it just adds another level of charm to an already amazing song. and sometimes its just a clunky old mess. this english version of 'je changerais d'avis' falls in to the clunky category. also, hearing the lyrics in english sets feminism back quite a few years. not the best - but i know you'll be interested in hearing it.

and here it is...!

STELLA - LES VIEUX SAUCISSONS
i was starting to think i'd never hear this song until fane pointed me in the right direction, then massive thanks to aaron and justus for make it possible for me to share this super rare track with you.
you will not be disappointed! (google translates the title as old sausages(!?) - can anyone suggest what the title actually means?)

bye bye stone

STONE - LE SEUL BEBE QUI NE PLEURE PAS
it's clear from the single cover that the stone we knew and loved was disappearing into a more mumsy, less rolling stone (thanks eric) - but she's still sounding good on this song from 71. this is possibly her last song worth listening too (feel free to correct me if you disagree!)

don't call me jocelyne

MICHELE MERCIER - SIX HUIT
you are probably already familiar with the a-side, written by gainsbourg, but the b-side )not written by s.g.) is worth checking out too as it still has a wonderful 70s serge sound to it

i kern not believe it

ANNE KERN - NE CRAINS RIEN
she may look like she's starring in an early 60s espionage thriller but don't let that confuse you - she's a real groover. the title track from this e.p. is just so good. i mean, it's 'pussycat' good, trust me. massive thanks to fane for introducing me to this song.
