francoise par jean-marie perier
this gorgeous hardback features wonderful photos of francoise from the 60s to the present day. all taken the best and most creative photographer of that era: jean-marie perier. he couldn't take a bad photo of her- whether posed or candid - he manages to capture something that is just magical. 
not much to read but a lot to look at and enjoy.

which witch?

FRANCOISE HARDY - LES CHANSON DE LA SORCIERE
today i was listening to alex beaupains new project - music inspired from some found photos called 'le gens dans l'enveloppe' on which was a song i instantly recognised as vanessa paradis sang it on tv (see below) when she was very young! it's a song from a childrens musical, well known in france called 'emilie jolie'. anyways, after a bit of reading up i discovered that FH was also on the soundtrack. a nice song too - very fitting with her other late 70s work. enjoy x2!

i was given the midnight blues 68-72 cd for christmas and on its first listen i was bit underwhelmed. but repeated listens have proved what a great collection it really is.  english language songs - mostly familiar songs but a few of them were brand new to me. i''m going to post just a few of them over the next few days to give you a taster of the album - but i defo recommend getting it for your collection.

sometimes when a french singer sings one of their songs in english it just adds another level of charm to an already amazing song. and sometimes its just a clunky old mess. this english version of 'je changerais d'avis' falls in to the clunky category. also, hearing the lyrics in english sets feminism back quite a few years. not the best - but i know you'll be interested in hearing it.
