hi!
i know i post sporadically and i have no idea if anyone will read this or will even care! but here is my list anyway.
the usual mix of cool french women, scandi dolls, 60's chicks, a flashback and an occasional man (french naturally!)
is there anyone i've missed?
do you have an recommendations for me?

MARY HOPKIN - POSTCARD (special edition)
a big thanks to lia pamina for drawing my attention to this. an unusual mix of folk, showtunes and 60s pop all produced by paul mccartney. the bonus tracks are so, so good too. think marianne, vashti and just trust me!
Labels: mary hopkin

TWINKLE - MICHAEL HANNAH
a 'lost' album of twinkle sounds like songs from a musical. it is her story of her enduring love and fixation on michael, the impact on her, his other relationships and ultimately letting him go.

ALLIE X - COLLXTION II
cool pop. a blend of early (read: good) gaga and lana del rey with a synthesiser

CYRIL MOKAIESH - CLOTURE
i came upon cyril by accident, flicking through the french channel. what a find!

KIM WILDE - SELECT
i know this is 35 years old but i was very happy to rediscover it this year. i was always a big kim fan as child, singing along to water on glass or cambodia. this album captures her at her zenith with her dad and brother writing her best songs full of cinematic drama.
