PRETTY NICE - DAVIDS MIXTAPE - zipi think pretty nice is an understatement here- it could be renamed 'toally marvy'. david writes that he " tried to do a bit of a mix between genuinely old stuff, and more modern slightly retro interpretations / inspired stuff. tried to limit the tunes to the type of material that readers of your blog might enjoy, though there are a couple of outsiders including pomplamoose's (i think cutesy) cover of a lady gaga track, and the last song by katy carr which to me could be the greatest eurovision song if ever it was entered, which by extension makes my feel it could justifiably be included here."

for this mix-tape i wanted to showcase the haunting beautiful vocals of these female singers from the 1960s. i imagine these songs being played while standing out on a balcony that over looks the dimly lit parsian streets with a group of close friends. our primary source of warmth comes from the glasses of red wine we're drinking. the songs featured on this mix-tape are those that make me feel comfortable and that all is right with the world. it is my hope that others will listen to these songs and get that same sort of feeling." i'm sure they will caleb!
