to celebrate the new year, i thought i'd share with you my essential albums of 2009 (just as i have done in previous years.) the following albums are in no particular order of preference - each has rated very highly depending on my mood! if you like any of the songs- go and buy the albums!
and thanks for all your marvy messages this year - they mean a lot to me and i really appreciate them.
miike snow - silvia - miike snow swedish super producers bloodshy and avant (britney, kylie madonna) team up with andrew wyatt and have created an electronic masterpiece.
this entire album is amazing - every song sort of sounds like something you've heard before but can't quite remember. every song gets better with each listen. 10/10
calogero - l'embellie - featuring a handful of great songs annie - don't stop - finally! but why was 'anthonio' absent? madonna - celebration (single) - guaranteed to make me get up and dance yoko ono - between my head and the sky - thanks yoko for the brilliance of 'i'm going away smiling'. but you'll have to go the basement jaxx album 'scars' to get uplifted by yoko on 'day of the sunflowers' vanessa paradis - best of - a magnificent double cd filled with hits and rarities bananarama - viva - featuring a marvellous cover of 'voyage voyage'
here is my christmas gift to you - available for a limited period only - the 2001 documentary 'france gall par france gall' (466 very worthwhile MB) - enjoy!
i can't believe a whole year has passed since my dog barnaby died. there is not a day where i don't think of you my little boy. these 2 songs are for you -
last night i went to see 'the first day of the rest of your life' (le premier jour du reste de ta vie) and i was blown away. i went knowing virtually nothing about the film except i had read the hideous phrase 'family drama' somewhere. i would recommend this so highly to you all. it was brilliant. i have seen a lot of films this year and this was by far the best.
i am having problems trying to buy tickets for melodifestivalen 2010 - specifically 20th feb live show. i really really really want to go and swedish ebay (tradera) doesn't seem to like non-swedes. do i have any scandinavian friends out there who can help? can anyone?
