CLAUDINE LONGET - LOVE IN THE PICTURE
it's my birthday! as a present to you, i finally give to you the 2nd of her japanese songs (never released on cd). cue mordi words: marvy! billiant! etc
FRANCE GALL - QUAND ON EST ENFANT (1977) i'm giving you an 8 day week as i realized that so far all my fg posts have been from 71-75 and nothing later than that. to rectify this, here is a song from the 1977 dancing disco (?!!) album that is totally undisco but totally beautiful.
i hope this week managed to convince you that there is more france gall out there to enjoy!
FRANCE GALL - S'I L'ON POUVAIT VRAIMENT PARLER (1974) seriously, this is amazing. it is reminiscent of 70's francoise hardy message personnel era - perhaps because hubby michel berger wrote them both. such a gorgeous song.
FRANCE GALL - LE LACHE (1973) i know everyone thinks the ultimate yé-yé goddess went a bit shit when the 70's arrived - but i'm here to prove you wrong! ok, her music may have altered a bit- but behind it all is her great voice. this is the week to learn to love the best of 70's france gall.
LIO - JE NE SAIS PAS DIRE OUI from 1980 - this may be something to do with elli et jacno but i can't fully work out if he/they wrote or produced this song. either way - it's tops.
STEPHANIE - OURAGAN i bought this on vinyl on my recent trip to paris and it hasn't been off the record player since! i love the terrible lyrics from the english version of this song too: "he's a maker of fashion he's a faker of passion" !! number one in france in 1986.
hi! sorry for the recent lack of posts but i have been for a short break to paris. the highlight of the trip was seeing calogero (who was amazing) - as you can see from the pics above- zazie made a surprise appearance and they sang a duet together- what a marvy doll bonus! calogero also sang poupée de cire poupée de son! yowsers!
