precocious dolls - wednesday

PATTY DUKE - DON'T JUST STAND THERE
classic teenage 60's dramarama, and if it's a game, she don't wanna play it!

Strong (and probably not accidental) resemblance to Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me". It reminds me that I saw a Patty Duke movie when I was a kid (in 1966 or so; I was 7) called "Billie" where she sang and was a high-school track star. She would run, and she heard "the beat" in her head, and it made her run faster.

And I thought, even at 7, that it was the dumbest thing I had ever seen.

dumb, yet you make it sound so appealing!
