I've never been able to figure out why nobody's thought to cover this song. Can you imagine how great a version by L7 or The Breeders would be?

Thanks for posting this! It is one of the most memorable moments from a classic film. This number never fails to put a big grin on my face. Is it just me...or does anyone else find the Burton remake pointless? Gene Wilder will always be Willy Wonka.

By the way, your recent Marianne Faithfull week turned me on to her earlier stuff. I was only familiar with her raspy-voiced material from the 70s on. I had no idea that her youthful voice was so delicate and beautiful. Thanks, again!!!

Hey, Madcatjoey, the song was covered by Lollipop Train, aka Death By Chocolate, aka Angie Tillett and Jez Butler (courtesy of Mike Alway's Siesta label). Great version, too!
