miss j

i think jacqueline sometimes gets forgotten about in the history of french-girl 60s pop which is a real shame. so it's time to remind ourselves what a top doll she was (is!) by listening to a few of her songs. i'm sure you all have 7.am (english and french versions) so i'm going for the less obvious -but just as good ones.

Jacqueline is not as overlooked as you might apprehend. Her image is displayed on the cover of Ultra-Chicks Vol. 4, part of the Québecois compilation series. Moreover, Bob Dylan played "7 heures du matin" on his radio program, one of a very, very few non-English language records for that show. He also played a portion of the English version (which appears on "Girls In The Garage Vol. 3). In any event, we delight in this latest tribute to a very special yé-yé girl.

She cowrote something called The Disc For Peace or something like that. It's pretty unplayable except she plays a journalist and she sings her song in her 7AM voice.
