My top tip of 2011? Check out Chrysta Bell - written and produced by that old svengali David Lynch, it's a mod-pop masterpiece with a definite 80s edge, and the dark/melancholy atmosphere you'd expect from Monsieur Lynch's involvement!

I hardly ever get into "new" artists, or pay much attention to what gets newly released in a year.. most of what I listen to is the tried and true old stuff I've always liked, and everything else that's been around forever that I finally discover :) .. I did like Florrie's new EP, I gave Mélanie Laurent's album a listen & I'm enjoying that, Pomplamoose has put out some good music this past year, and I've been liking Lana Del Ray lately, she's releasing her album at the end of this month. I'm gonna check out Chrysta Bell, that sounds cool. ~Darby

the one group i stupidly forgot to put on the list was 'le kid' a swedish pop band - a cross between dragonette and girls aloud.
