CHARLOTTE WALTERS - ANGEL OF SIN

friend of blowupdoll, matthew bright discovered these amazing tracks on holy warbles - he couldn't have been more correct in his assumption that i would like them too. i LOVE them! hippy, trippy, psyche french marvyness!

It's on Girls in the Garage 12, which is basically Swinging Mademoiselles 3. Unfortunately they don't have any info on her, ust that the song was written by Etienne Roda Gil who was a big writer in the 70s.

Etienne Roda Gil wrote the words for Vanessa Paradis' debut album and La Crab by Françoise Hardy. I've seen the name on lots of mainstream French pop albums.

thought it'd seen that name somewhere before!

Hubert Rostaing (credited as orchestrator and conductor) played clarinet with Django Reinhart in the '40s and composed and directed a lot of film scores in the '70s.

encyclopedisque.fr credits "Angel of Sin" to Ch. Walters - Roda-Gil. Apparently "Ch. Walters" is Charlotte's sister Chloe, who can be seen playing the "Angel of Sin" riff on guitar in a recent youtube clip (youtube.com/watch?v=LhCvm3L6lnI). As for Charlotte herself? I have no idea.

Hi! Just to mention GITG 12 was released earlier on in the year - however not many copies were pressed as previous volumes so it's probably a bit harder to come across. You can still buy it on eBay at the moment. It's worth it too alone for Les Emeraudes' cover of The Orchids' "Mr Scrooge"!
