CHER - A YOUNG GIRL (1966)i'm sure for many of you, the thought of a cher week isn't very appealing - but i am asking you to trust me and give her a go. forget plastic cher with her vocoder voice- go back in time to bad teeth, big nose and poker straight long hair. some of her 60's output is amazing and very eclectic- ranging from hippy ideals, anti war anthems, samba sounds, brit cover versions and the wall of sound influence, not forgetting some gems written by sonny.

That was interesting! In Holland, a Dutch version of this song was a huge hit for balladeer Boudewijn de Groot. I had no idea it was a translation. Perhaps it got translated all across Europe? The music for 'Une enfant" is by Charles Aznavour, incidentally.
